Mission statement

We, the members of the Da Vinci Society of Calgary, are committed to the pursuit of knowledge and using that knowledge to promote understanding and respect amongst all races, religions, cultures, and minorities in order to work towards correcting the injustices suffered globally.

Background

Not so long ago, the idea for this group was written down in my journal, where I thought it would remain. Jen and I later discussed it and she and I turned that idea into a reality. 

Today we are a group of 15 and there seems no sign of stopping. Our members are the ones coming up with ideas and calling around the city for information, every inch of progress was the result of there collective pull. Congratulations!

There are some people starving for knowledge, sitting around thinking "there must be others like me". As youth we are stereotyped, and ageist prejudices suck all the validity out of our words. Its so horribly frustrating having so much to say and no one to say it to. Over the last little while, I have discovered that no one is alone in that sentiment.
